Our client, a well-established commercial practice in Atlanta, is seeking a highly skilled Legal Assistant with strong experience in bankruptcy and commercial litigation to join their team. This role is essential to supporting a busy practice and requires someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in managing complex legal workload.
This position is 100% on-site, and while the firm is actively hiring for a permanent employee, they are open to bringing on a temporary professional immediately to ensure continuity and workflow support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys in the areas of bankruptcy and commercial litigation.
- Draft, edit, and prepare pleadings, motions, filings, and legal correspondence.
- Assist with court filings (state, federal, and bankruptcy courts).
- Maintain case calendars, track deadlines, and coordinate hearing schedules.
- Organize, manage, and update case files and discovery materials.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
- Support trial preparation, including document organization and exhibit management.
- Perform general administrative duties, including scheduling, billing support, and file maintenance.
Qualifications
- Required: Experience in bankruptcy law and commercial litigation.
- 3+ years of legal assistant or paralegal support experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of court filing procedures and legal terminology.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- High level of professionalism and strong written/verbal communication.
- Proficiency with legal software, Microsoft Office, and document management systems.
